Heather Lauren

Hi y'all!

I'm so glad you're here!
I am a Sarasota, FL based photographer. I have 2 kiddos (Ayden + Skyler) that I am obsessed with, a sweet Husky pup named Leah, and a real passion for capturing human connections. Although being a photographer has never felt like a job, when I’m not “working” I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, being on or near the water, or a good book with a great glass (or 3) of vino.

I have been shooting weddings domestically and internationally for 6 years and I have truly loved every minute of it. My style is non-traditional, not often will you be connecting with the camera but more with each other. I love a sense of intimacy in my photos. I feel that high contrast and darker colors help convey that feeling!

To be honest… I’m not the best with words. I hope the photos say it all!

catch me in action

Hi! I'm Heather, the artist behind the camera

Besides photography, of course, my other passion is learning about history and traveling to historic towns. Give me a fanny pack, a trolly and a tour guide and I am one happy camper!
My love of adventure comes from growing up in a military family. I was born in Germany, then moved to the United States when I was 3 years old. We moved around quite a bit, but mostly stayed in Kentucky and Indiana. In 2009, after living in Wisconsin, I was tired of the cold. So I packed up, and moved south, where I've called Sarasota home ever since.

After moving to Florida, I found my passion for photography and Heather Lauren Photography was born

Sipping chartreuse and green tea while looking at the most perfect white subway tile and hand painted signs. Driving through the mountains to Portland reminiscing about the best memories back home. Cozy sweaters, vintage demin, and Pabst while telling one of a kind love stories. The trials and tribulations of love, joy, and happiness. Lastly, champagne brunch and avocado toast while surrounded by the finest exposed brick, dreamcatchers, and maps to our souls. Dreamcatchers, macrame and 100 Days of Summer. Anthropologie trips and walks on the beach, love letters and secret admirers. Fall breeze, flannels, and hot cocoa. Whales and dinosaurs and handmade crafts. Salvage denim, antique leather bags, and the first time we watched Moonrise Kingdom.

The slow hum of traffic and the cool breeze that signify the joy of a new day.
